FAQs about Madame Karine's Private Online Tutoring
What is the cost of private lessons?
$50CAD for 55 minutes
Does learning online work?
Absolutely!! I’ve been teaching online now for 5 years and I’m amazed at the results. I had my reservations about it at first but was pleasantly surprised at how successful it has been. I even wrote a blog post about this. Check it out the article Unlocking the Power of Online Learning.
What platform do you use for online teaching?
I use Zoom for teaching online.
How many times a week do you recommend?
This really depends on your child’s needs and how far behind they are in their learning. Usually, it’s once or twice a week (if they are needing to get caught up). I’ve also done 4 times a week for homeschoolers that were eager to learn the French language as part of their program. We can always start with one and adjust
as need to be.
Do you offer online tutoring with the French Reading Video Course?
These are 2 separate offerings but can definitely work very well together. I’ve had a few parents that have purchased both. They did the video course on their own and then had private classes so we could review what their child learned. The video course an excellent and more affordable way for your child to repeat and review the lessons taught as many times as they need.
Can you help children with learning difficulties?
Yes. Many of the students that come to see me have some sort of learning difficulty that makes it harder for them to learn. With patience, repetition, a variety of tools and strategies, they succeed just as well.
What is your speciality?
My specialty is teaching French speaking, reading and writing for beginners, elementary students (kindergarten to grade 6) and struggling learners. I also help older students with FSL, grammar, and comprehension.
Prefer a Self-Paced Video Course?
For families who want flexibility, my video course allows children to repeat and review lessons as often as needed. It’s effective, affordable, and designed for independent practice.
